Let's talk Prep
- Complete all other beauty services before your appointment such as waxing, facials, manicures, and massages. Waxing should be at least 24 hours prior to spray tan appointment
- Shave/exfoliate your skin at least 24 hours prior to your appointment
- Wear loose and dark clothing to appointment. Avoid jeans, yoga pants, and bras. If you must wear a bra, I recommend a strapless bra or bandeau
- Shower several hours before your appointment to help ensure closed pores
- Remove or avoid wearing any perfume, lotion, makeup, or deodorant as this acts as a barrier to the spray
- Book your appointment 2 days before an event
- *Please note some medications can affect skin's pH balance, making it difficult for the DHA to react with it, resulting in an uneven and patchy tan
How to make your Glow last
- Avoid wearing a bra, socks or other restrictive clothing immediately after your spray tan session. The looser fitting the better to avoid any streaking as the tan is developing.
- If you have chosen the Traditional Glow, it is recommended that you wait 12-24 hours to rinse off depending on desired result (overnight if possible). This will allow your tan to fully develop.
- If you have chosen the Express Glow (Rapid solution), it is extremely important that you rinse at the time your spray tech has recommended for you (typically 2-4 hours after solution is applied).
- Your first shower post spray tan should be just a gentle rinse without soap (don't pee in the shower!). You will notice the temporary bronzer washing away, leaving you beautifully bronzed underneath. Your tan will continue to develop even after the shower, so do not be alarmed if you’re not as tanned as you expect to be, it will continue to develop over the next 24 hours.
- Once out of the shower pat your skin dry, do not rub. You will want to continue to pat your skin dry for the duration of your tan.
- From this point on hydration is the key! Moisturize twice a day to extend the life of your beautiful and GLOWING spray tan. This is crucial to maintain your tan and aides in fading evenly.
- Avoid moisturizes with AHA. (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) as this ingredient promotes exfoliation.
- Also avoid any type of DHA product that has a self tanner - ex. Jergens, Clarins, Neutrogena, St. Tropez, as these can turn your tan yellow.
- Please do not schedule your manicure, pedicure, or waxing appointments after your tan, as these treatments will remove any color from your skin.
- The life of your tan will depend on the frequency of your workouts, showers and your skin’s exposure to chlorine and salt water.
- Do not use aerosol or oil-based sunscreen!
